Our “Jacksonville Reads” program is open to anyone 16 years of age and older, not enrolled in a traditional school program.  This program offers many educational opportunities for adults with fourth grade or below literacy abilities.  Adults may meet with a volunteer tutor, attend small groups, literacy classes and/or study in the computer lab.  Workbooks and supplemental materials are provided at no cost to active students and tutors.

In 1995 Learn to Read Jacksonville expanded its services to the workplace, providing an advancement class for Jacksonville Electric Authority employees. Currently we provide classes for City of Jacksonville employees, and other workplaces in our community. This program offers innovative instruction for traditional basic literacy skills, as well as integrated instruction in critical thinking, problem solving, team building and other skills necessary to function in the current workplace and in the 21st century.
